About the Post/Opportunity/Job
This is a direct recruitment for the post of Labour Inspector within the Sikkim State Labour Service Cadre, under the Labour Department. The position is on a temporary regular basis.

Roles and Responsibilities
Ensuring compliance with various state and central labor laws and regulations.
Maintaining harmonious relations between employers and employees.
Apprising management and employers of legal obligations and conducive work environments.
Implementing and enforcing laws such as the Minimum Wages Act, Child Labour Act, and the Sikkim Labour (Regulation of Employment & Condition of Services) Act.
Eligibility
Educational Qualification: Degree in Law from a recognized university.
Mandatory Documents: Must possess a valid Sikkim Subject Certificate or Certificate of Identification.
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age as of January 31, 2026.
Language & Customs: Must be able to read, write, and speak at least one of the state languages and be conversant with the local customs and traditions of Sikkim.
Salary/Perks
Level 11 of the Pay Matrix.
During the period of probation, apprenticeship, or training, pay is governed by Notification No. 489/GEN/DOP dated 31.10.2011.
