About the Post / Opportunity
NABARD invites applications from eligible Indian citizens for the post of **Assistant Manager (Legal)** in Grade ‘A’. This recruitment is part of NABARD’s initiative to strengthen its Legal Service and support the organization’s legal and regulatory framework. Total Vacancies – 2 Posts
Category-wise distribution will be as per Government of India norms. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWBD candidates will apply as per rules.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Handling legal references received from various departments and regional offices concerning statutory interpretation, including the NABARD Act, RBI Act, Banking Regulation Act, and Companies Act.
• Drafting pleadings, preparing briefs, and providing instructions to counsel in connection with litigation involving the Bank.
• Representing NABARD before Conciliation Officers, Labour Courts, Tribunals, and other judicial authorities.
• Providing legal opinions on contracts, compliance matters, and banking laws.
• Any other duties assigned by the Bank related to legal affairs.
Eligibility
Educational Qualification (as on 01 November 2025):
• Bachelor’s Degree in Law recognized by UGC and the Bar Council of India for enrolment as an Advocate, with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWBD) in aggregate.
• OR Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M) with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWBD).
Experience:
Practicing Advocates must provide: (i) a copy of their Bar Council Registration Certificate, and (ii) a certificate from the Bar Association or Presiding Officer of a Court confirming the period of practice.
Age Limit (as on 01 November 2025):
Minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years (i.e., candidates must have been born not earlier than 02 November 1995 and not later than 01 November 2004).
Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD as per Government of India norms.
Selection Procedure
The selection process for Assistant Manager (Legal) in Grade ‘A’ will consist of the following stages:
1. Phase I – Preliminary Examination (Online Objective Test)
2. Phase II – Main Examination (Descriptive and Objective Legal Paper)
3. Phase III – Psychometric Test (Mandatory)
4. Phase IV – Interview (50 marks)
The final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in Phase II (Main Examination) and Interview combined.
Salary / Perks
• Pay Scale: ₹44,500 – 89,150 (starting basic pay ₹44,500 per month).
• Approximate gross monthly emoluments: ₹1,00,000/-.
• Benefits include Dearness Allowance, Local Compensatory Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Medical Facility, Leave Travel Concession, and coverage under the New Pension Scheme (NPS).
