About the Organisation
The Office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Bamra Wildlife Division, Sambalpur, Odisha, is responsible for the protection, management, and conservation of forest and wildlife resources within its jurisdiction. The Division is actively involved in enforcement of wildlife laws, prosecution of forest and wildlife offence cases, and ensuring sustainable ecological balance.
About the Post / Opportunity
Applications are invited for engagement of one Legal Expert to work in the Office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Bamra Wildlife Division for the year 2025-26. The engagement is purely temporary and will be initially up to 31.03.2026, which may be extended based on performance and suitability.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Preparation of OR/UD/PR case records.
• Assisting in confiscation proceedings and inquiries related to forest and wildlife cases.
• Visiting Range Offices of Bamra Wildlife Division, Courts (SDJM Kuchinda, SDJM Redhakhol, District Court Sambalpur, High Court Cuttack), PCCF (WL) and HoFF Offices as required.
• Supporting legal processes and assisting the Authorized Officer and Inquiry Officers.
• Maintaining confidentiality of official data and adhering to office discipline.
Eligibility
Qualification: LLB degree with minimum 2 (two) years of work experience.
Preference: Candidates having prior experience dealing with forest and wildlife offence matters.
Language: Proficiency in Odia (reading and writing) is mandatory.
Health: The candidate must be physically fit and willing to work in challenging weather and terrain conditions.
Salary / Perks
Consolidated monthly remuneration of ₹50,000/- (inclusive of EPF, Service Charges, and GST). No additional DA will be admissible. Actual travelling expenses will be reimbursed. Payment shall be made through the Service Provider based on performance evaluation.
Tenure of Appointment
The engagement is initially up to 31.03.2026 and may be extended depending on satisfactory performance.
Working Hours and Leave
• The Legal Expert will work during regular office hours and may be required to work beyond duty hours or on holidays.
• Entitled to 11 days of casual leave per year with prior approval.
• Unauthorized absence will lead to proportionate deduction from monthly remuneration.
Termination and Conduct
The Divisional Forest Officer reserves the right to terminate the engagement with one month’s prior notice without assigning any reason. Any misconduct, sharing of confidential information, or submission of forged documents will lead to immediate disengagement and legal action.
Selection Process
Selection will be based on performance in the Walk-in Interview and Skill Test conducted at the Office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Bamra Wildlife Division.
