Online applications are invited for engagement as Research Associates on a contractual basis at the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad. Selected candidates will be attached to Hon'ble Judges at Prayagraj or the Lucknow Bench and will assist in judicial research, drafting, case analysis, and related legal work.

Roles and Responsibilities

● Conducting legal research on points of law and judicial precedents
● Assisting Hon'ble Judges in legal analysis and case preparation
● Drafting notes, summaries, and research memoranda
● Studying statutes, judgments, and legal materials
● Attending court proceedings and taking notes during hearings
● Assisting in maintenance of case files and legal records
● Supporting preparation of academic papers and legal research material
● Maintaining records of judgments and legal issues decided by the Court
● Performing any other duties assigned by the Judge concerned

Eligibility

Educational Qualification

● Three-year or Five-year LL.B. degree from a law college or university recognised by the Bar Council of India.

● Candidates who completed or are completing their LL.B. in the academic sessions 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible to apply.

● Candidates appearing in the LL.B. Final Year Examination 2026 and awaiting results may also apply.

Note

● Engagement is initially for one year, extendable up to a maximum of three years subject to satisfactory performance.

● Candidates who have previously worked as a Research Associate are not eligible to apply again.

● Research Associates shall not engage in any academic or professional pursuit during the tenure without prior permission of the Court.

● For two years after completion of engagement, a Research Associate shall not appear before the Judge to whom they were attached.

● Selection will be based on:

• Academic and co-curricular weightage (20 marks)

• Screening Test (60 marks)

• Interview (20 marks)
