It is responsible for regulating the banking system, managing monetary policy, maintaining financial stability, and overseeing currency and foreign exchange operations. Recruitment for officer-level positions is conducted through the Reserve Bank of India Services Board (RBISB).

• Permanent appointment

• Full-time Central Bank officer position

• Probation period: 2 years (extendable up to 4 years)

Pay Scale & Emoluments

• Pay Scale: ₹78,450 – 1,41,600 (Grade ‘B’)

• Initial Monthly Gross Emoluments: approx. ₹1,53,675/- (excluding HRA)

• Additional allowances: DA, Grade Allowance, Special Allowance, LCA, HRA, Medical, Leave Fare Allowance, etc.

Eligibility Criteria (as on 01 February 2026)

A. Age Limit

• Minimum: 21 years

• Maximum: 32 years

• Age relaxation:

  • LL.M.: +3 years

  • Ph.D. (Law): +5 years

  • As per GoI rules for reserved categories

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a University recognised by UGC and Bar Council of India

• Minimum marks:

  • 50% (General/OBC/EWS)

  • 45% (SC/ST/PwBD)

Experience Requirement

Essential:

• Must be enrolled as an Advocate with a State Bar Council

• Minimum 2 years post-enrolment experience, in any one of the following:

  • Practising Advocate, or

  • Law Officer in a Bank / Financial Institution / PSU / Government body, or

  • Full-time Law Faculty in a recognised University or Law College

Desirable:

• Exposure to Banking Law, Company Law, Labour Law, Constitutional Law

• Experience in drafting pleadings, advisory opinions, and litigation briefs

Job Responsibilities

• Legal advisory to RBI departments

• Interpretation of banking and financial statutes

• Drafting legislation, pleadings, and legal documents

• Handling litigation before Courts, Tribunals, and Authorities

• Representation before Labour Courts and Conciliation Officers

Selection Process

• Phase I & II Examinations (Objective + Descriptive)

• Personal Interview

• Final selection based on combined performance
