Public Law Officer/District Litigation Officer/Law Officer: Four vacancies for the post of Public Law Officer/District Litigation Officer/Law Officer in the Law and Justice Department under the Administration of UT of Ladakh.

Roles and Responsibilities

Assistant Public Prosecutor: To conduct cases in courts of Metropolitan Magistrates on behalf of Govt. of NCT of Delhi; teaching law in any institution/organization; giving advice to police in criminal cases; maintaining records/statistical information of criminal cases pending in MM courts.

Public Law Officer/District Litigation Officer/Law Officer: Responsible for providing legal opinions and vetting draft notifications, rules, and regulations for all departments of the UT of Ladakh; participates in the Departmental Promotion Committee; drafts and vets replies on behalf of departments; communicates formally with the Ministry; may also perform duties of District Litigation Officer of the twin districts of Leh and Kargil.

Eligibility

Assistant Public Prosecutor:

- Educational: Degree in law from a recognized University/Institute.

- Experience: Three years' experience at the bar. (Desirable: Experience as government advocate.)

Public Law Officer/District Litigation Officer/Law Officer:

- Educational: A Bachelor's Degree in Law (Professional or integrated) from a university established by Law in India, having two years' actual practice at bar, certified by the Principal District and Sessions Judge concerned or Registrar General of the Honourable High Court concerned or Supreme Court.

Common to both posts: Qualifications relaxable at UPSC's discretion for otherwise well-qualified candidates; experience qualification relaxable for SC/ST candidates at UPSC's discretion where sufficient candidates from these communities are not likely to be available. Date for determining eligibility: the prescribed closing date for submission of application.

Salary / Perks

Assistant Public Prosecutor: Pay Scale: Level-10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. Post is permanent; General Central Service Group "A" Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. Probation: Two (02) years.

Public Law Officer/District Litigation Officer/Law Officer: Pay Scale: Level-8 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. Post is permanent; General Central Service Group "B" Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. Probation: Two (02) years.

Common to both posts: Mandatory induction training of at least two weeks' duration for direct recruits, for successful completion of probation, as prescribed by the competent authority.
