About the Post / Opportunity
NTPC Limited invites online applications for the post of Assistant Law Officer at the E0 level for its Projects and Stations. The recruitment shall be carried out through CLAT-2026 (Post Graduate Programme) conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities. Candidates applying against this advertisement shall be shortlisted for further selection process, as decided by NTPC, based on their CLAT-2026 Post Graduate Programme performance scores. CLAT scores of any other year or scores of any other examination shall not be considered valid.

Roles and Responsibilities
The notification does not specify detailed job responsibilities. Selected candidates shall be appointed as Assistant Law Officers and shall perform legal duties as assigned by NTPC Limited at its Projects, Stations, Units, Joint Ventures, or Subsidiaries. Posting shall be transferable at the sole discretion of the management.

Eligibility

The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB or equivalent), obtained through a full-time course from a recognized Indian University or Institute.

The candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying degree. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste category and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities must have secured a minimum of 55% marks.

The candidate must have appeared in CLAT-2026 (Post Graduate Programme) conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities. CLAT scores of any other year shall not be accepted.

The upper age limit is 30 years as on the last date of online application.

Age relaxation is applicable as follows:
– 5 years for SC candidates
– 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates
– 10 years for PwBD candidates
– Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India norms

Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

Salary
The selected candidates shall be placed in the E0 level pay scale under the IDA pattern.
Pay scale: ₹30,000 – ₹1,20,000.

Eligible candidates must apply online only through the NTPC careers portal available at careers.ntpc.co.in or through the careers section of www.ntpc.co.in. No other mode of application shall be accepted. Candidates are required to apply using their CLAT-2026 Admit Card number. After successful submission of the application, a unique application number shall be generated. Candidates are advised to download and retain the application slip for future reference.

Candidates belonging to the General, EWS, and OBC categories are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹500. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and female categories are exempted from payment of the application fee.
