The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) functions under the Department of Environment, Government of NCT of Delhi. It is responsible for implementing environmental laws, controlling pollution, and ensuring compliance with environmental standards in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

About the Post / Opportunity

The post of Assistant Law Officer is a legal position to be filled on deputation basis (including short-term contract).

Initial tenure: 1 year

Extendable up to 3 years

Governed by DoPT deputation rules

• Handling legal matters and litigation relating to environmental laws

• Drafting legal documents, notices, and opinions

• Assisting in regulatory compliance under environmental statutes

• Coordinating with legal departments, government authorities, and counsel

• Advising the department on legal and policy issues

• Managing legal records and case documentation

Eligibility

Officers from:

• Central Government / State Government / Union Territory

• Recognized Research Institutes

• Autonomous Bodies / Statutory Bodies / PSUs

Must satisfy either:

Holding analogous post on regular basis; OR

Minimum 5 years regular service in Pay Level 6 (₹35,400–₹1,12,400)

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university/institution

Experience

Minimum 4 years: As a legal practitioner; OR In handling legal work in Government/PSU/Autonomous/Statutory bodies

Salary

Pay Level 7: ₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400 (Pay Matrix)
