About the Post / Opportunity

Online applications are invited for the engagement of one Young Professional (Legal) on contract basis, to be deputed at the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi. This role supports policy-making, scheme rollout, impact assessment, and legal advisory in higher education initiatives. The engagement is initially for one year, extendable up to two years based on performance and requirement.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Providing legal advisory on education policies, schemes, and regulatory matters

• Drafting legal opinions, reports, and documents for scheme appraisal and implementation

• Conducting research, impact assessments, and field surveys related to higher education laws

• Assisting in appraisal of government schemes, data analytics, and report writing

• Supporting policy formulation, rollout, and handling legal aspects of education sector projects

Eligibility

Educational Qualification

• Graduation or Master's Degree in Law from a recognized university/institution

• From Institutions figuring in Top 40 NIRF Rankings (2025) in Law category Experience

• Relevant background in research, published papers, data analytics, report writing, policy making, scheme rollout, impact assessment, or field surveys preferred (no minimum fixed experience required, but weightage given to education sector exposure)

Desirable

• Competency/proficiency in computer and IT tools (e.g., MS-Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Background in legal research, appraisal of government schemes, or education sector projects

Salary / Perks

• Consolidated monthly remuneration of ₹70,000 (initially)

• Standard perks as applicable to contract professionals (no additional allowances specified)
