The Rajasthan Public Service Commission is the premier constitutional body of the state, responsible for selecting candidates for civil services and departmental posts. This specific recruitment is for the Home Department (Prosecution), Government of Rajasthan, aiming to strengthen the public prosecution framework in the state.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a regular state government job opportunity for the post of Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO) under the Rajasthan Prosecution Subordinate Service Rules, 1978 (and related rules for Scheduled Areas). Selected officers represent the State in criminal trials and handle public prosecution matters at the subordinate court level.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Preparing and presenting criminal cases on behalf of the State Government before the Magistrate Courts.

Analyzing police case diaries, investigation reports, and drafting legal applications or charges.

Coordinating with police officials to ensure all material evidence and witnesses are produced during trials.

Providing legal advice to local administrative bodies and police stations on ongoing statutory matters.
ELIGIBILITY
Educational Qualification: 1. A Professional Degree in Law (LL.B.) or an Integrated Law Course from a University established by law in India.
Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and familiarity with Rajasthani dialects and social customs. Note: Candidates must have fully acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before the final date of application submission to be eligible.
Age Limit (as of 01.01.2027): Minimum 21 years and Maximum 40 years.
Relaxation: Male candidates of SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS from Rajasthan and General category Women get 5 years relaxation. SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS Women from Rajasthan get 10 years relaxation. There is no upper age limit for widows and divorcees.
SALARY/PERKS
Pay Scale: Placed in Pay Matrix Level L-11 (with a Grade Pay of ₹4,200/-).
Perks: During the initial probation period, a fixed monthly stipend/salary will be paid as per the prevailing Rajasthan State Government rules.
SELECTION PROCESS
The selection will be done through a competitive examination conducted in two distinct stages:
1. Preliminary Examination: Acts as a screening test.
2. Main Written Examination: The final merit list will be prepared strictly based on marks secured in the Main Written Examination. Normalization or scaling may be applied to answer sheets if required.
