ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a major recruiting agency under the Government of India's Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. The Karnataka Kerala Region (KKR) branch, based in Bengaluru, is specifically responsible for overseeing recruitment processes, examinations, and related legal matters within its regional jurisdiction.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a short-term contractual assignment for law graduates to work as a Young Professional (Legal Consultant). The role provides an opportunity to handle legal complexities related to government recruitment and service matters, offering an initial one-year term that may be extended based on performance.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Litigation Management: Maintaining and monitoring databases for cases pending in the Supreme Court, High Courts, CAT, and other tribunals.
- Drafting: Preparing petitions, replies, rejoinders, affidavits, and other legal pleadings.
- Legal Scrutiny: Reviewing notices of examination, results, medical examination cases, and contract agreements from a legal perspective.
- Advisory: Obtaining legal opinions from the Law Ministry and analyzing the feasibility of implementing court verdicts.
- Coordination: Maintaining close liaison with the Law Ministry, Senior Law Officers, Government Counsels, and SSC Headquarters.
ELIGIBILITY
- Educational Qualification: A Graduate Degree in Law from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) or other recognized law schools with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Skills: Candidates must possess excellent drafting and communication skills in English.
- Experience: While nil experience is essential, one year of experience in drafting legal documents and handling recruitment or CAT matters is desirable.
- Age: The upper age limit is 32 years.
SALARY/PERKS
- Remuneration: A consolidated monthly fee of ₹60,000.
- Increments: If extended, remuneration may increase by up to 5% annually, capped at 1.25 times the initial pay.
- Leave: Entitlement of 1.5 days of leave for each completed month.
- Travel: Reimbursement for domestic tours, including Economy class airfare or AC Two Tier rail, along with hotel and food allowances.
