About the Organisation
The High Court of Judicature at Allahabad invites applications for appointment to the post of Special Judicial Magistrate (SJM) in certain districts of Uttar Pradesh where vacancies exist. The appointment is made under the supervision of the High Court and is subject to correction and updation from time to time.

Eligibility / Qualification
A person shall be eligible for appointment as Special Judicial Magistrate only if he/she:
- Holds or has held any post under the Government, and
- Possesses a Degree in Law (LL.B.) or is otherwise well experienced in relation to legal affairs to the satisfaction of the High Court

- Last Date to Apply: 22 January 2026 (till 12:00 midnight)
Term of Office
- The term of office shall be four (4) years from the date of assumption of charge
OR - Till the appointee attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier
Honorarium / Remuneration
- ₹45,000/- per month (Fixed Honorarium)
- ₹5,000/- per month towards conveyance allowance
No other allowances shall be admissible.
Documents Required with Application
Applicants must submit self-attested photocopies of the following documents:
- Documents relating to particulars mentioned in the application form
- Character roll entries of the last five years of Government service
Special Note:
- Character roll entries are not required for ex-SJMs appointed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh
- If an ex-SJM applies for re-appointment, he/she must enclose four best judgments delivered while holding the post of SJM/SMM
Submission of Application
- Applications must be submitted to the District Judge of the district for which the candidate is applying
- Applications sent directly to the High Court shall be rejected and will not be processed further
