The Directorate operates across India and supports national financial security through investigation, adjudication, and enforcement functions.

About the Post / Opportunity

The Directorate invites applications from qualified legal professionals for short-term contractual engagement as Legal Consultants. Selected candidates will assist the Directorate in managing litigation, supporting statutory functions, and handling matters under FEMA, PMLA, FEO Act, and related fiscal legislation.

Roles and Responsibilities

Legal Consultants will support the Directorate by:

• Assisting officers in legal matters related to FEMA, PMLA, FEO Act, and other fiscal statutes.
• Appearing before Appellate and Adjudicating Authorities and relevant tribunals/courts as required.
• Briefing Senior Law Officers, Central Government Standing Counsel, and Senior/Panel Advocates.
• Preparing and vetting legal documents, reports, and case briefs.
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to contractual obligations.

Eligibility

Qualification

• LL.B. from a recognised university; graduates from National Law Schools preferred.
• Minimum 3 years' experience at Bar/Court dealing with Criminal and Fiscal Law.
• LL.M. holders may receive additional weightage.

Salary / Perks

• ₹80,000 per month (consolidated)
• Up to 10% annual increment based on performance appraisal
