About the Post / Opportunity
SBI is inviting online applications for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Manager (Law) and Deputy Manager (Law) in its Specialist Cadre Officers (SCO) stream. Selected candidates will be responsible for legal advisory work, contract vetting, litigation management, regulatory compliance, and coordination with external counsel and statutory authorities.

Assistant Manager (Law): SC-3, ST-1, OBC-5, EWS-2, UR-9 (Total 20)
Deputy Manager (Law): SC-4, ST-2, OBC-7, EWS-2, UR-12 + Backlog-2 (Total 29)
Roles and Responsibilities
● Providing legal opinions on banking and commercial matters
● Drafting, vetting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, deeds, agreements, and legal documents
● Supporting operational departments in identifying and mitigating legal risks
● Handling litigation and representing the Bank before judicial and quasi-judicial forums wherever required
● Coordinating with advocates, consultants, regulators, and statutory authorities
● Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and disseminating relevant updates within the Bank
● Conducting title investigation and property-related due diligence where required
● Assisting in legal compliance and risk management functions
● Undertaking any other legal assignments entrusted by the Bank from time to time.
Eligibility
Educational Qualification
● Graduate with a Degree in Law from a recognised university in India.
● Candidates possessing a 5-year Integrated Law Degree may be given preference.
Experience
Assistant Manager (Law)
● Minimum 2 years' experience as a practising Advocate after enrolment with the Bar Council; OR
● Minimum 2 years' experience as Law Officer in the Legal Department of a Scheduled Commercial Bank; OR
● Combined experience of 2 years as practising Advocate and Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Banks.
Deputy Manager (Law)
● Minimum 4 years' experience as a practising Advocate after enrolment with the Bar Council; OR
● Minimum 4 years' experience as Law Officer in the Legal Department of a Scheduled Commercial Bank; OR
● Combined experience of 4 years as practising Advocate and Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Banks.
