About the Organisation:

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is a statutory body functioning under the administrative control of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. It regulates the manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import of food articles and establishes standards to ensure food safety.

Educational Qualification:

Age Limit:

Nature of Engagement:

Contractual engagement initially for one year, extendable annually based on performance evaluation and functional requirements for a maximum period of three years (1+1+1 years).

Remuneration:

Fixed consolidated remuneration of ₹70,000 per month. A 5% annual increment may be applicable if the contract is extended beyond one year.

Allowances:

No separate local allowances, HRA or medical benefits will be provided. TA/DA for official outstation travel will be admissible at rates applicable to Pay Level 10.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handling, monitoring and coordinating pending court cases before various courts and tribunals.

• Drafting, vetting and reviewing regulations, agreements, MoUs, contracts, tenders, policies, SOPs, advisories, petitions, counter-affidavits and other legal documents.

• Providing legal interpretations, opinions and advice on rules, regulations, statutory provisions, judgments and orders.

• Preparing legal opinions, pleadings and case briefs, and coordinating with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and other concerned authorities.

• Scrutinising professional fee bills submitted by empanelled law firms and advocates.

• Preparing briefing notes and conducting legal research, analysis and drafting as required by FSSAI.

Working Hours:

Generally, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Consultants may be required to work on weekends or holidays depending on official requirements.
