Roles and Responsibilities

The Law Officers are responsible for providing legal expertise to the Bank. This involves handling legal matters related to the Bank's operations, which includes managing litigation, drafting and vetting legal documents, and representing the Bank in courts and before regulatory authorities. The role also entails advising on legal compliance, recovery proceedings, and ensuring the Bank's interests are protected in various transactions and policies.

Eligibility

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in law with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a University/Institute recognized by Govt. of India or its Regulatory bodies.)

Experience:

- Law Officer (Scale V):*.Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience, in total, as a practicing Advocate and/or as a Law Officer in any of the Scheduled Commercial Banks/PSUs/State or Central Govt. departments or entities, out of which minimum 10 years work experience as a Law Officer in any of the Scheduled Commercial Banks/PSUs/State or Central Govt. departments or entities.

- Law Officer (Scale IV): Minimum 11 years of post-qualification experience, in total, as a practicing Advocate and/or as a Law Officer in any of the Scheduled Commercial Banks/PSUs/State or Central Govt. departments or entities, out of which minimum 7 years work experience as a Law Officer in any of the same.

- Law Officer (Scale III): Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience, in total, as a practicing Advocate and/or as a Law Officer in any of the Scheduled Commercial Banks/PSUs/State or Central Govt. departments or entities, out of which minimum 4 years work experience as a Law Officer in any of the same.

- Law Officer (Scale II): Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience, in total, as a practicing Advocate and/or as a Law Officer in any of the Scheduled Commercial Banks/PSUs/State or Central Govt. departments or entities. (Period of experience in practice and service will be added for arriving at the total experience to be considered for this purpose.)

In addition, Special Allowance, Dearness Allowance and other allowances payable as per prevailing rules and regulations in the Bank; officer also eligible for amenities like residential quarters/lease rent in lieu of quarters, LFC, reimbursement of medical/hospitalization expenses and other perquisites as per Bank policy. Salary and other emoluments governed by industry-level bipartite settlement and the Joint Note applicable to officers in the banking sector. CTC may vary based on location, DA changes, wage revision, Bank's schemes and staff benefits.
