The High Court of Judicature at Madras is one of the oldest High Courts in India, serving the state of Tamil Nadu. The recruitment is for positions sanctioned to the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy (TNSJA), Chennai, which provides judicial education and training.

About the Post/Opportunity

Applications are invited for Research Fellow and Research Assistant positions on an ad hoc basis with consolidated pay, to assist in legal research and academic activities at the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy.

• Research Assistant – 03 posts

Roles and Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and assist in academic/legal projects of the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy.

• Support Judges and faculty in preparing research papers, reports, and training materials.

• Maintain high standards of integrity and reputation during the assignment.

• The assignment is contractual, initially for one year, extendable by another year based on performance.

Eligibility

• Age: Must not have attained 30 years as on 01.01.2026 (born on or after 02.01.1996).

• Educational Qualification:

  • For Research Fellow: Postgraduate in Law (LLM/ML) from a recognized university, eligible for enrollment as Advocate.

  • For Research Assistant: Graduate in Law (LLB/BL) from a recognized university, eligible for enrollment as Advocate.

• Must be skilled in computer usage, online legal research, and law journals.

• Should not have been involved in any criminal case.

• Candidates pursuing postgraduate degrees or other programs requiring compulsory attendance are not eligible.

Salary

• Research Fellow – ₹45,000 per month (consolidated)

• Research Assistant – ₹30,000 per month (consolidated)

2. Register as a new applicant (previous IDs are invalid).

3. Complete the application in two parts: Registration and Filling up of Application.

4. Upload required documents (photograph, signature, certificates, mark sheets, enrollment certificate, experience certificate, proof of computer skills, etc.).

5. Submit the application online and download the PDF copy for future reference.

6. No need to send a hard copy to the High Court.
