ABOUT THE POST/OPPORTUNITY/JOB

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• • Presiding over the court as a Civil Judge (Junior Division).
  • Hearing and deciding civil disputes within prescribed pecuniary limits.
  • Acting as a Judicial Magistrate for criminal trials.
  • Ensuring the fair administration of justice and managing court procedures according to state and central laws.

ELIGIBILITY (AS OF AUGUST 01, 2025)

• • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a university recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
  • Experience: Candidates must have at least three years of experience as a legal practitioner (Advocate) or as a Law Clerk with a Judge as of February 23, 2026.
  • Age: Minimum 22 years and Maximum 35 years.
    • Relaxation: Up to 40 years for reserved categories and women.

SALARY/PERKS

• • Basic Pay: ₹77,840 – ₹1,36,520 (as per the 2nd National Judicial Pay Commission).
  • In-hand Salary: Approximately ₹1,00,000+ per month, including HRA, DA, and medical allowances.

SELECTION PROCESS & EXAM DATES

The selection consists of three stages:

1. Preliminary Exam (May 30, 2026): Two objective papers—General Studies (100 marks) and Law (150 marks).
2. Mains Exam (Subjective): Includes compulsory papers (General Hindi, English, GK, Science, Evidence & Procedure) and three elective law subjects.
3. Interview (100 Marks): Minimum 35% marks required to qualify.
