The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (U.P. RERA) was established under the Real Estate (Regulation & Development) Act, 2016. Its mandate is to regulate and promote the real estate sector in Uttar Pradesh, ensuring transparency and protecting the interests of consumers.

About the Post/Opportunity/Job

The position is for a Legal Consultant engaged on a full-time contractual basis initially for a period of two (2) years. The contract is extendable for up to a maximum period of three additional years beyond the original term, based on performance and mutual consent.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Support in Court Cases: Assist in preparing instructions for advocates, drafting counter-affidavits, writ petitions, and SLPs for various courts including the Supreme Court and High Courts.
• Legal Research: Conduct in-depth research on real estate laws, consumer matters, and constitutional issues, focusing on rulings from the Supreme Court, High Courts, and NCLAT/NCLT.
• Drafting and Vetting: Draft legally sound notices, orders, circulars, and internal instructions for the Authority.
• Advisory: Provide legal opinions on issues arising from the Authority's functions and suggest strategies to minimize litigation risks.
• Coordination: Brief and coordinate with senior advocates and standing counsels engaged by the Authority.

Eligibility

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a reputed university; a five-year degree is preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in case-related work, legal research, and drafting, preferably with reputed law firms.
• Court Exposure: Demonstrated experience in handling matters before Higher Courts (High Courts and the Supreme Court of India).
• Skills: Strong legal drafting, research skills, and computer proficiency in MS Office; proficiency in written and verbal communication in both English and Hindi.

Salary/Perks

• Remuneration: Negotiable and commensurate with qualifications, experience, and the last salary drawn as per U.P. RERA norms.
• Increment: There is a provision for a yearly increase of 5 percent in remuneration.
• Travel Allowance: T.A./D.A. is admissible for official travel at the rate applicable to an officer in the Grade Pay of Rs. 8,900/- in the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
• Leave: Entitled to leave as admissible to Group 'A' officers of the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
